  • 9 lasagna noodles (uncooked)
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil (chopped)
  • 1/4 cup fresh oregano (chopped)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and lay flat.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat, then stir in the marinara sauce and fresh herbs.
  4. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese with beaten eggs, half of the Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper.
  5. In a baking dish, layer meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until bubbly.
