Red, White & Blue Rice Krispie Treats are the perfect festive dessert to celebrate summer gatherings, especially Independence Day.   • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 10 oz mini marshmallows
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp red gel food coloring
  • 1 tsp blue gel food coloring

Instructions

  1. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
  2. In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Add mini marshmallows and stir until fully melted.
  3. Remove from heat and fold in Rice Krispies until well coated.
  4. Divide the mixture into three bowls: one for white, one colored red, and one colored blue. Mix until colors are vibrant.
  5. Press the white mixture into the bottom of the greased pan, followed by the blue layer, then the red layer. Ensure each layer is pressed down firmly.
  6. Allow to cool at room temperature for about an hour before cutting into squares.
