  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs (for topping)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Peel and slice the potatoes into thin rounds (about a quarter-inch thick).
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with chopped onions. Season with salt and pepper; cook until fully cooked (about five minutes).
  4. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the potato slices, followed by the cooked beef mixture. Top with the remaining potato slices.
  5. Pour milk evenly over the layers and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  6. Mix panko breadcrumbs with melted butter; sprinkle over cheese.
