Tomato Baked Ziti is a savory, crowd-pleasing dish that features layers of tender ziti pasta, rich marinara sauce, and a delightful blend of creamy cheeses.   • 12 oz ziti pasta
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 15 oz whole milk ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh basil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook ziti in salted boiling water until al dente (about 8-10 minutes). Drain and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, mix ricotta, egg, half of the mozzarella, Parmesan, and basil until smooth.
  4. Spread a layer of marinara in a greased baking dish. Layer half of the ziti, half of the ricotta mixture, and more marinara. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
  5. Top with remaining mozzarella and bake covered for 25 minutes. Uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden.
