  • 8 oz fettuccine pasta
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • ¼ cup fresh basil, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the fettuccine in salted boiling water until al dente, about 10-12 minutes. Drain, reserving some pasta water.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, warm olive oil and sauté minced garlic until fragrant (about 1 minute).
  3. Pour in heavy cream and let it simmer for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Stir in Parmesan cheese and chopped basil until melted and combined.
  5. Add the drained pasta to the sauce, tossing well to coat. If needed, add reserved pasta water for desired consistency.
  6. Serve immediately, garnished with extra Parmesan and basil.
