Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Sprinkle yeast on top; let sit for five minutes until frothy.
  2. In another bowl, whisk flour and salt together. Gradually add yeast mixture while stirring until combined.
  3. Transfer dough to a floured surface; knead for five minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm place for about one hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Punch down risen dough and roll it into six-inch ropes; place on greased baking sheet.
  7. Brush with melted butter mixed with garlic powder.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Drizzle with additional melted butter before serving.
