  • 1 sleeve Saltine Crackers (approximately 40 crackers)
  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter (2 sticks)
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar (light)
  • 2 cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1 cup Chopped Nuts (pecans or walnuts)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer on the baking sheet.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine butter and brown sugar, stirring until boiling. Boil for 3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Pour the hot toffee mixture evenly over the crackers.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 5 minutes or until bubbly.
  6. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot toffee. Allow them to melt for a few minutes before spreading evenly.
  7. Sprinkle chopped nuts over melted chocolate and gently press down.
  8. Cool at room temperature then refrigerate for about an hour until firm. Break into pieces to serve.
