  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups powdered sugar (for icing)

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk until just lukewarm and combine it with active dry yeast in a bowl; let sit until frothy (about 5 minutes).
  2. Add granulated sugar, melted butter, salt, and 2 cups of flour; mix until combined.
  3. Gradually incorporate additional flour until the dough is manageable to knead.
  4. Knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm area for about an hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Roll out onto a floured surface into a rectangle; spread melted butter on top.
  7. Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon evenly over the surface.
  8. Roll tightly into a log and slice into one-inch pieces; place cut-side up in greased baking pans.
  9. Let them rise again while preheating the oven to 350°F; bake for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Mix powdered sugar with milk for icing and drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
