  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 (14 oz) cans whole peeled tomatoes
  • 4 cups fish stock
  • 1 lb large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 1 lb firm white fish (like cod or halibut), cut into chunks
  • 1 lb fresh clams
  • 1 tbsp dried oregano
  • 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot over medium heat, warm the olive oil. Sauté the onion until translucent (about 5 minutes), then add garlic for another minute.
  2. Add crushed tomatoes and fish stock; stir in oregano and red pepper flakes. Simmer on low for 15 minutes.
  3. Add shrimp and white fish; cover and cook for 5 minutes until they are just cooked through.
  4. Mix in clams; cover and cook until clams open (about 5 minutes). Discard any unopened clams.
  5. Stir in chopped parsley before serving and ladle into bowls with crusty bread on the side.
