  • 8 oz (225g) short pasta (penne or fusilli)
  • 6 strips thick-cut bacon
  • 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
  • 1 cup (100g) shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup (50g) freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ½ cup (50g) panko breadcrumbs mixed with 2 tbsp melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Cook the pasta in salted boiling water until al dente, drain, and set aside.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, fry the bacon until crispy. Drain on paper towels and crumble.
  4. In the same skillet, combine heavy cream, garlic powder, salt, and pepper; simmer until slightly thickened.
  5. In a bowl, mix cooked pasta, crumbled bacon, half of both cheeses, and the cream sauce until well coated.
  6. Transfer to the prepared baking dish, top with remaining cheeses and breadcrumbs, then bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
