  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (panko preferred)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (for cooking)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, salt, and pepper until just combined. Form into four equal patties.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Brown patties for about four minutes on each side; set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté mushrooms until browned (about five minutes).
  4. Add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce; stir well while deglazing the pan.
  5. Return patties to the skillet; simmer for ten minutes until cooked through.
  6. Serve hot with gravy poured over and your favorite sides.
