Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb skinless salmon fillet
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry (thawed)
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill (chopped)
  • 1 medium shallot (finely chopped)
  • 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté chopped shallots until soft and translucent, about 3 minutes. Stir in dill, salt, and pepper.
  3. In a bowl, mix the sautéed shallots with softened cream cheese until smooth.
  4. Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a floured surface until large enough to wrap around the salmon completely.
  5. Place half of the cream cheese mixture on the pastry, center the salmon fillet on top, then spread the remaining mixture over the salmon. Wrap the pastry around the salmon and seal edges tightly.
  6. Brush the top with beaten egg for a golden finish. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
