  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla until fluffy. Beat in the egg yolk.
  3. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually mix into the wet ingredients until fully combined.
  4. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions onto the baking sheets. Use your thumb to make an indentation in each cookie.
  5. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are golden but centers remain soft.
  6. Immediately fill each thumbprint with chocolate chips and drizzle with caramel sauce; sprinkle chopped pecans on top. Cool slightly before transferring to plates.
