Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • cutting board

Ingredients

For the Filling

  • 1 pound Boneless Chicken Breast Fresh is key for the best flavor; shred after cooking.
  • 2 cups Cabbage Adds a satisfying crunch; swap for lettuce for lighter rolls.
  • 1 cup Carrots Offers a hint of sweetness; bell peppers can enhance flavor and color.
  • 3 stalks Green Onions Adds subtle onion notes; chives make a great alternative.
  • 2 cloves Minced Garlic Infuses the filling with aroma; garlic powder works in a pinch.
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Ginger Gives warmth and spice; feel free to omit if necessary.

For Wrapping

  • 12 pieces Spring Roll Wrappers Essential for holding the delicious filling; rice paper is a great substitute for a unique twist.

For Flavor

  • 3 tablespoons Soy Sauce Elevates the umami profile; use tamari for a gluten-free option.
  • 2 cups Vegetable Oil Required for frying; peanut oil can offer a delightful nutty taste.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Cook seasoned chicken in a skillet over medium heat until golden brown, about 6-8 minutes per side. Once cooked, shred the chicken into bite-sized pieces for easy wrapping.
  • Slice cabbage and carrots (and any additional veggies you prefer) into thin strips, ensuring they are easy to roll into the wrappers and add delightful crunch.
  • In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken with your prepared vegetables, minced garlic, fresh ginger, and soy sauce. Stir well to ensure every ingredient is coated evenly, creating a flavor-packed filling.
  • Lay a spring roll wrapper flat on a clean surface. Spoon approximately 2 tablespoons of the filling at one edge and roll tightly, tucking the sides in as you go to seal in all the goodness.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Carefully add each rolled spring roll and fry until they turn golden brown, about 3 minutes per side. Drain them on paper towels afterward to remove excess oil.
  • Arrange your freshly made spring rolls on a platter and serve them warm with your choice of dipping sauce for the perfect bite!

Notes

Optional: Serve with sweet chili sauce or soy sauce for extra flavor.
