Ingredients
  

For the Dough

  • 3 cups All-Purpose Flour Can substitute up to 50% with whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp Salt Use sea salt or kosher salt for best results
  • 1 tsp Instant Yeast No need to activate
  • 1.5 cups Water Lukewarm for optimal results

Instructions
 

Making the Bread

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, salt, and instant yeast. Gradually add lukewarm water and stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  • Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap or a damp cloth. Let the dough rise at room temperature for 12 to 18 hours.
  • Gently turn the dough onto a floured surface and shape it into a ball. Place it on parchment paper and let it rise for another hour.
  • Preheat your Dutch oven (with lid) to 450°F (232°C) while the dough rises.
  • Lift the dough (with parchment) into the hot Dutch oven. Cover and bake for 30 minutes, then remove the lid and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes.
  • Transfer the bread to a wire rack to cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Optional: Brush the warm bread with olive oil or melted butter before serving.
