Ingredients
  

Chili Base

  • 2 tbsp Avocado Oil Can substitute with olive or canola oil.
  • 1 piece Yellow Onion Chopped.
  • 2 stalks Celery Chopped.
  • 2 pieces Bell Peppers Chopped.
  • 4 cloves Garlic Minced or freshly grated.
  • 1.5 lb Ground Beef Coarsely ground.

Spices

  • 2 tbsp Chili Powder Adjust to taste.
  • 2 tbsp Paprika Sweet or smoked.
  • 2 tsp Cumin
  • 1 tsp Coriander
  • 1 tsp Oregano
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • 1 stick Cinnamon Stick

Chili Sauce

  • 28 oz Crushed Tomatoes
  • 14 oz Guinness Stout Can substitute with another stout or dark ale.
  • 19 oz Kidney Beans Drained and rinsed.

Toppings

  • to taste Sour Cream
  • to taste Cheddar Cheese
  • to taste Green Onions

Instructions
 

Cooking Steps

  • Start by heating avocado oil in a large pot over medium-high heat.
  • Add in the chopped yellow onion and sauté until golden, about 5 minutes.
  • Toss in the chopped celery, bell peppers, and garlic. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the ground beef, breaking it up until no longer pink (about 5 minutes).
  • Mix in the chili powder, paprika, cumin, coriander, oregano, salt, pepper, and cinnamon stick.
  • Pour in the crushed tomatoes and Guinness, stirring well to combine.
  • Reduce heat to medium-low and let simmer uncovered for 30 minutes.
  • Stir in the kidney beans and warm through for just a few minutes.
  • Taste and season as needed, then serve with your favorite toppings.

Notes

This Guinness beef chili tastes even better the next day! Store in an airtight container for 5 days, or freeze for up to 6 months.
