Ingredients
  

For the Chicken Wings

  • 2 pounds Chicken Wings Fresh wings are preferred for optimal flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon Baking Powder For achieving golden, crunchy skin.

For the Seasoning

  • 1 teaspoon Salt Adjust according to your taste.
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper Use black or white pepper.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder Enhances aroma and taste.

For the Glaze

  • 3 tablespoons Gochujang The star ingredient.
  • 2 tablespoons Honey Balances the heat.
  • 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce Opt for tamari to keep it gluten-free.
  • 1 tablespoon Vinegar Rice vinegar enhances flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame Oil Optional, but adds warm nuttiness.

For the Aromatics

  • 3 cloves Garlic Freshly minced.
  • 1 inch Ginger Fresh ginger for best results.
  • 1 tablespoon Brown Sugar Can skip for a lower sugar version.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 220°C (425°F). Line a baking sheet with foil and place a greased wire rack on top.
  • Pat dry the chicken wings with paper towels. In a large bowl, toss wings with baking powder, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Arrange the seasoned wings on the prepared rack in a single layer. Bake for 20 minutes, flip them over, and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  • Prepare the glaze by combining gochujang, honey, soy sauce, vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, ginger, and brown sugar in a saucepan. Heat over low until it thickens slightly.
  • Transfer the crispy wings to a large bowl, pour the glaze over them, and gently toss to coat every wing.
  • Return the glazed wings to the oven for another 5 minutes to set the glaze.
  • Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds and chopped green onions, alongside lime wedges.

Notes

Serve with jasmine rice or cucumber salad for a complete meal. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
