Ingredients
  

For the Dough

  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter Softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract Quality vanilla recommended
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda Check expiration
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder Use good quality
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt

For the Mix-Ins

  • 1 cup M&M Candies Mini M&Ms or themed candies can be used

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Cream the softened butter with brown and granulated sugars in a mixer until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Incorporate the vanilla extract.
  • Whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  • Combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture gradually, mixing just until well combined.
  • Fold in the M&M candies gently, saving a handful for topping.
  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough about 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheets.
  • Bake the cookies for 9-11 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  • Cool the cookies on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

Optional: Sprinkle extra M&Ms on top immediately after baking for added color and crunch. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
